SPECIES CHARACTERISTICS:
Evergreen tree. Fast growth rate, 20 - 30' in height with 20 - 30' spread. Round in shape.
FOLIAGE:
Bipinnate leaf type, opposite arrangement, 1/4" leaflets, fern like leaves. Gray green in color.
FLOWERS:
Large cluster of small golden yellow flowers. Flowers in late Winter early Spring.
FRUIT:
Dry; Dehiscent legume, brown in color.
BARK:
Smooth-Gray.
EXPOSURE:
Full sun, wind, heat, cold; Hardiness:
Sunset zones: 7 - 9, 13 - 24.
SOIL:
Well drained.
WATER:
Low water needed.
PESTS/DISEASES:
No significant pest problems.
PRUNING:
To shape.
PROPAGATION:
Seed.
USES:
Accent, Foliage, flower, specimen, street tree.
COMMENTS:
Short lived tree.
