SPECIES CHARACTERISTICS:
Deciduous, tree. Fast growth rate, 20 - 30' in height, equal spread. Round to oval shape.
FOLIAGE:
Simple leaf, elliptic shape. Finely serrate margins.
2 - 4" long, 1 1/2 " wide. New leaves copper-red to dark purple.
FLOWERS:

Perfect; white or pink, 3/4" across. Early Spring.
FRUIT:

Succulent, indehiscent, drupe.
STEM / TRUNK:
Multi-stemmed or branching near the ground.
BARK:
Dark gray to dark reddish purple.
EXPOSURE:
Full sun, partial shade.
SOIL:

Any, well drained.
WATER:
Supplemental water in Summer.
PESTS / DISEASES:
Aphids, shot hole borer, peach tree borer.
PROPAGATION:
Seed - cutting.
USES:
