SPECIES CHARACTERISTICS:

Deciduous, broadleaf tree. Moderate growth rate, 50' in height, equal spread. Round to oval in shape.
FOLIAGE:
Bipinnately compound leaf, opposite arrangement. Leaflets oval in shape, entire margins, 1 - 2" in size. Bright green in color.
FLOWERS:

Perfect; bright yellow on long terminal panicles.
FRUIT:
Roundish black berry enclosed in 2" long papery, showy lantem-Iike capsules.
STEM / TRUNK:
Single trunk.
BARK:
Light tan, lightly textured.
EXPOSURE:
Full sun, heat and cold;
Hardiness: Sunset zones: 8 - 24.
SOIL:
Well drained.
WATER:
Low water needed.
PRUNING:
To shape.
PROPAGATION:
Seed - cuttings.
USES:
Accent, background, foliage, flower, right of way, shade, seasonal color, specimen.
