The Street Maintenance Division is one of the oldest divisions within the Bureau. The Division is committed to the cleaning and maintenance of 6,500 miles of dedicated public thoroughfares (28,000 lane miles) and 800 miles of alleys in an area exceeding 466 square miles. The Division performs street sweeping to 856 Restricted Parking Routes as well as to 390 Non Posted Routes. Some of the maintenance functions performed range from pothole repair to pavement preservation such as slurry seal application. The head of the Street Maintenance Division is John Sapone, Acting Division Manager.
