DIVISIONAL MESSAGE

Thank you for visiting the Street Maintenance Division, I encourage you to browse our site to see some of the services we provide in your community. If you need service, remember to call 3-1-1.

UNIQUE FACT

Did you know that there are 6,500 miles of dedicated public thoroughfares (28,000 lane miles) within the City of Los Angeles?

Within the Street Maintenance Division, there can be up to 24 Small Asphalt Repair Trucks (SAR) or better known as Pothole Trucks, working on the streets of Los Angeles. To put this into perspective, 28,000 lane miles is like having a four lane highway in each direction from Los Angeles to New York City or a two lane highway in each direction from Los Angeles to Paris, France and last, it would be like having a one lane highway that went around the world once. Now imagine only having 24 pothole trucks maintaining those stretches of roadways. You don't have to imagine it, everyday our employees are out there maintaining the roads you drive on that could wrap around the world!
