WELCOME TO SPECIAL PROJECTS DIVISION
The Special Projects Division is the newest Division in our Bureau. It is responsible for constructing all access ramps associated with the American Disabilities Act. The Division has also expanded to oversee various programs, including: the Transportation Grant Streetscape and Bikeways program, the Neighborhood Block Grant (NBG) program, the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Sidewalk and Tree Planting program, the Catch Basin and Off-Grade Gutter Repair program, the Bus Pad and Bus Stop Improvements Program, the 50/50 Sidewalk Program, the FEMA funded Bulkhead Construction and Repair program, the Sidewalk Access Ramps Program, the Sidewalk Saw Cut Program to eliminate trip and fall hazards, as well as other funded work, which includes the beautification of neighborhoods through streetscapes and street printing.
In addition, this Division constructs and performs minor maintenance on stairways, bridges, and concrete gutters. It also is responsible for handling other assorted special projects as they arise.
