The
Bikeway Section prepares plans, specifications, and manages construction
of bikeway projects in the City of Los Angeles. Bikeway projects
recently constructed include the Los Angeles River Bikepath Phase
1-A and Phase 1-D, and the Culver Blvd. Median Bikeway. Upcoming
projects include Los Angeles River Bikepath Phase 1-B and San Fernando
Bikepath Phase I.

HANSEN
DAM PARK BIKEWAY

Project Description: This project is a continuation
of the Hansen Dam Park Bikeway (Phase 1) constructed in 1990.
The bike path extension consists of a 12-foot wide asphalt/concrete
bike path, which begins at the top of the dam to connect to
the existing bike route on Wentworth Street. The new bike
path segment is approximately one-half mile in length. The
current access road was removed, graded and revegetated with
natural coastal sage scrub plant species to accommodate local
wildlife as required by federal guidelines. |
